Mom.
Today, in honour of my mother’s birthday, I am starting a blog for Joli Cœur Photography!
It all started back in the extra bedroom of our new home in Val Morin, during the summer of 2015, when I took these portraits of my mother. All I had was a white reflector to bounce the window light, our 5 year old camera we bought after our first baby was born and– a spark of inspiration to rekindle my original love of photography.
At the end of the day, when we found a few images we both liked, my mother thanked me for doing this for her– and with her. The time we spent together planning this simple photoshoot, and the process of working together to capture her just as she was at that time, was the most rewarding gift of all.
Having this personal experience with my own mother gave new meaning to my ability and desire to offer personal portraiture. Over two years later, I have learned how beautiful photographs of our loved ones are instantly priceless, as soon as they are created!
